Woman at the Well John 4

She sounds like she wants to know more about him and what Jesus believes. She shared her religious belief; Our fathers worshiped in our place. You are a Jew who worships in Jerusalem. She might have been wanting to truly worship God, not just be religious.

Yet, Jesus did not rebuke her religious response; he converses with her with a patient, loving heart. Sometimes, I wonder how blessed she was. Even the anointing these days through the Holy Spirit is amazing, how powerful a love she might have experienced when she was sitting in front of Jesus. Many times, that is what we are yearning for. Jesus still reveals himself to us when we seek him.

21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”  (John 4:21-24)
