Message of Hope
Jesus is my only HOPE!
"Hallelujah” was a cumbersome word until I came to understand its true meaning.
I was born and raised in the beautiful country of South Korea. When the seasons change, the colors of nature change in hue and vibrancy, always looking like a beautiful painting. The mountains are covered with pink and yellow flowers in the springtime, and are rolling in rich greens in the summer; they range from yellow to red in autumn, and are blanketed in white snow in the winter. Behind our house, we had a clear creek streaming down from the top of the mountain, going farther than my eyes could see. When the sun hit the water, usually all you could see were sparkles as the water rushed over the rocks. We would catch fish with our bare hands and swim in the summertime. In spring and autumn, we roamed the mountainsides and would breathe in the smell of nature until we were covered in dirt. In the wintertime, my brothers and sister and I would put on our skates and go ice skating. It was so much fun.
I was born into a Christian family.
My father was born into a strong Confucian household. His family was involved in politics. God saved him by the power of Holy Spirit. Later he became a pastor and served the Lord with his whole heart.
My mother was a third-generation Christian and sacrificed her life to lead a whole family to Christ. She gave her life to the Lord with my father.
I recently watched a video entitled Back to Jerusalem, about the way God is working spiritually in China. I think the same work of the Holy Spirit was passing through South Korea in 1950 during the Korean War through 1980. I did not know what was really happening at that time, but when I came to America approximately twenty-some-odd years later, I began to understand what had been occurring. I could see from the outside to the inside of my country and the way God was moving to fulfill His will. At the time the Holy Spirit was moving strongly in Korea, I was saved.
Now as I am sitting in an American church and praying for missionaries, I begin to see how powerfully God worked in my country during that time, and I know He is still working in other countries today.
I always wanted to go to America to see the beautiful people in Christ. My imagination about America was heavenly. Often I went to a Christian book store and imagine about America. When I read one of Joni Eareckson Tada’s books, I saw that beauty comes out of tragedy. I wanted to know more about that God. I wanted to preach that God all over the world. The enemy did not like the vision that God gave to me.
My dream and vision were crushed during my first month in America by one simple choice. I thought I was a spiritual hero who could save a non-Christian family by marrying into them. My unborn child and I were not welcomed into this land. Fear, accompanied by my weakness and ignorance, brought tremendous tragedy in my life. But I did not know it was a part of the journey to knowing more about God. Even though the enemy tried to destroy me, God was not finished with me. It was the beginning of His plan for my life. God had a bigger plan. The enemy could not destroy that. The enemy loves to paint my life with sin, but God repaints my life with His Love.
During twenty years of suffering in darkness, God began to allow me to experience the power of His love. He showed me His love has no limit. Nothing can separate me from His love. My Jesus never deserted or abandoned me.
In fact, He revealed Himself and His love more to me through this tragic moment.
God is LOVE.
We can have so much knowledge of God; we can be so spiritual. But if we do not know the heart of God, we are broken.
Can you hear His whisper?
Let’s quiet our heart. Let’s stop the noise. Stop running, doing and chasing.
Meet God without fear.
Come to the cross and rest…
He has forgiven you.
After we had gone through a major healing process, God granted my husband Steven and me His peace and love as a gift. We were able to live in harmony
with God and with each other. We found the love that we were looking for when Steven and I fell in love with Jesus again. Jesus was a tender Shepherd who gave His life for His sheep. His grace is infinite.
Now Steven and I are attending Calvary Community Church in Phoenix, Arizona and we are accepted and loved by the members. God showed His mercy and love through the body of Christ.
We are willing to lay down our egos before the cross and give our secret sins to Jesus. God can use our mess to make something beautiful because of His love at Calvary. He wins anyway no matter what has happened to us because He is God.
I lost my precious son, but I found the LOVE of Christ.
I lost my ego, but I found freedom in Christ.
She was lost in the Garden of Eden, but she was found at the cross.
Hallelujah!
Now I am a child of God.
I am a chosen people,
a royal priesthood,
a holy nation,
One belonging to God.
SO YOU ARE!
They overcame him (Satan)
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.
